The Fair-Share Algorithm
Booking time on a jointly-owned yacht has historically been a headache. Who gets the first two weeks of August? What about the Caribbean holidays? 8kts completely automates this.
Our scheduling engine divides the year into peak, shoulder, and off-season blocks. Based on your equity percentage (e.g., a 12.5% share yields roughly 6 weeks), you are allocated a proportional amount of points for each season. Peak weeks are rotated annually, ensuring everyone gets equitable access to prime sailing time over the lifetime of the syndicate.
Peer-to-Peer Time Exchange
Plans change, and that's okay. If you can't use your allocated time, or simply want to try a different location, you can utilize our internal exchange.
Trade your week in Greece for a week in Croatia with a co-owner from a different syndicate. The platform manages the point equivalencies and calendar swaps automatically, giving you the flexibility of a global fleet even if you only own a share in one vessel.
Chartering Unused Time
Don't want to swap? You can opt to place any unused weeks back into the verified charter market. 8kts connects your calendar directly to our fleet operators, and any charter revenue generated goes straight to your balance to offset your share of the annual maintenance costs.
